As a strategic partner of Schneider Electric, Zembe Energy closely monitors the advances shaping the future of power distribution. The introduction of the MasterPacT MTZ Active represents a significant step toward digitalization, efficiency, and sustainability—pillars that also guide Zembe’s operations in the market. By integrating and promoting this new generation of smart circuit breakers in its projects, Zembe reaffirms its role as a transformative agent.

Schneider Electric, a global leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has launched the MasterPacT MTZ Active—a revolutionary circuit breaker designed to set new benchmarks in safety, efficiency, and sustainability, while ensuring business continuity. In a world increasingly driven by electricity and digitalization, the MasterPacT MTZ Active enables customers to address complex daily challenges such as the need for 24/7 availability, rising energy costs, and growing demands for sustainable practices.

“To address the energy and climate crises, it is crucial that we move toward a more electric and digital future,” states Victor Moure, VP Power Products & Digital Energy Iberia at Schneider Electric. “By working closely with our customers, we are adopting smart energy technologies that help reduce consumption and carbon emissions. The MasterPacT MTZ Active, our latest innovation, is designed to enhance energy efficiency and support decarbonization, while optimizing asset lifecycle without compromising functionality or safety.”

As sectors such as healthcare, construction, energy, chemical industries, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) evolve, energy management is becoming more distributed and complex. At the same time, businesses expect electricity to be available 24/7—and rightly so. Gartner experts estimate the cost of data center downtime at $5,600 per minute, or over $300,000 per hour. Ensuring the safety of installers, operators, and maintenance teams is therefore a top priority.

MasterPacT MTZ Active: Ready to Perform

For 35 years, the MasterPacT name has been synonymous with innovation and reliability in circuit breakers, with millions of units in operation worldwide. Now, as smart and connected power distribution becomes a necessity, Schneider Electric is once again expanding the range to enhance circuit breaker performance. The MasterPacT MTZ Active includes an electronic control unit that serves as the system’s brain, enabling facility managers to monitor and measure energy usage in real time.

“As with other Schneider Electric power distribution solutions, the MasterPacT MTZ Active allows operators to visualize and monitor their energy consumption in real time,” says Victor Moure. “With this readily available information, businesses can optimize their energy management, reduce consumption, eliminate inefficiencies, and lower their environmental impact.”

When the circuit breaker trips due to overloads, short circuits, or ground faults, the MasterPacT MTZ Active’s control unit accelerates issue mitigation with an industry-first QR code solution. Operators can scan the code to quickly access accurate guidance on the appropriate actions to take based on the cause of the trip.

“Tripping is often critical, and the MasterPacT MTZ Active is an ally in such moments. In the case of an overload, for instance, the operator receives immediate instructions to redistribute the load more evenly across the circuits,” adds Victor Moure.

Promoting Safety and Sustainability

The MasterPacT MTZ Active sets new benchmarks in safety and sustainability. Its integrated Energy Reduction Maintenance Setting (ERMS) system protects maintenance teams from arc flash risks, and the intuitive design of the control unit simplifies the configuration of all protection functions, including current, time delays, and alarms.

Designed with circularity in mind, MasterPacT MTZ Active circuit breakers can be refurbished by Schneider Electric for a second life with the same original warranty, thereby reducing waste and supporting sustainability. Moreover, the lifecycle of installed MasterPacT NT/NW circuit breakers can now be easily extended by upgrading the trip unit with the new MTZ Active electronic control. By avoiding full replacement of the breaker, costs are reduced and waste is minimized.

As electrification and digitalization continue to reshape global energy supply and demand, Schneider Electric remains committed to evolving the MasterPacT offering to meet customer needs and ensure robust, reliable circuit breaker performance.

By keeping pace with this technological evolution and incorporating it into its solutions, Zembe Energy reinforces its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability—key pillars for an electric sector prepared to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
