PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Stone grinding process using a BALL MILL, which operates based on the principle of impact and friction. The reduction in raw material size results from the impact of the balls inside the drum, which fall from the top of the cylinder. The solution implemented in this POWER SUPPLY PANEL FOR BALL MILL project integrated the OMRON CJ2 PLC along with OMRON Q2A variable speed drives. The Spacial SF enclosure from Schneider Electric was also integrated, together with Schneider Electric’s switching and protection devices, due to the demanding nature of the application in this process industry.

The rated current of this electrical panel is 2,000A, with an output of 1,250A to supply power to an external 450kW variable speed drive. The SF enclosures meet the following specifications:

  • Made of steel sheet with thickness ranging from 1.5 mm to 1.8 mm
  • Coating: epoxy-polyester paint, structured finish in RAL 7035 grey
  • IP55 protection rating according to IEC 60529
  • IK10 impact resistance rating according to IEC 62262
